Weren’t the wire wheels club models free?
They are! The free models are still available for download at wirewheelsclub.com. The “advanced” models are sold in the store, which were already on sale on other platforms such as Artstation or Gumroad.
How are free models different from “advanced” ones?
Advanced models are complete models, ready to render. They include PBR materials and textures, environment lighting, post-production effects and even some basic rigging.
If they are high quality models, how can they be so cheap?
Mainly because Wire Wheels Club is not a business and the aim is not to achieve high profitability, but to cover expenses. Each model can require between 50 and 80 hours of work which is done during free time as personal projects, but instead of saving them to a hard drive when finished, they are shared with the community.
What software do I need to use the models?
The models are delivered in native .blend and .max formats, so to open those files you will need Blender or 3ds Max (2015 minimum) and Corona renderer. In addition, generic .FBX and .OBJ formats are included to be used in other programs. Textures will work in any render engine with metallic/roughness workflow.
Is it necessary to register to use the page?
Registration is not necessary or required to browse the site, view products or making purchases. However, registration is recommended for making purchases as it allows the user to consult their orders, download models and invoices, and access technical support.
Do I have to pay royalties for using the models?
It will depend on the use that is given to the model. The license allows use in any project as long as it is limited to “editorial uses”: educational, illustrative, informative content and anything that is not directly commercial. In the case of “editorial use”, the model can be used as many times as desired without having to pay any type of royalty. To use the model for commercial purposes, it will be necessary to have the license or explicit permission of the industrial and intellectual owners of the designs and registered trademarks, and they may require payment of royalties.
No, the models cannot be shared, resold or redistributed in any way without express consent from us. Nor the models that you modify on your own, regardless of the degree of modification.
When will I be able to download the purchased model?
As soon as payment is accepted and confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order details, download links and a receipt. The download will be available immediately.
How many times can I download the models?
To prevent abuse and minimize piracy, the number of available downloads for each model will be limited to 3. If after the available downloads are exhausted you need to download the model again, please contact us for assistance.
The downloaded file has the name “file” and cannot be opened.
The models are packaged along with their textures in compressed .ZIP files. If when downloading the file it appears generic and without an extension, it may be due to the encoding of the download link. Right click on the file – “open with” – select the usual program for decompressing files.
When I try to unzip the files I get an error.
It is very likely that the download did not complete correctly, try downloading it again or use a download manager to continue if it stops. If the download does not complete successfully before exhausting all attempts, please contact us.
My software or computer crashes when loading the models or rendering the scene.
Both the models and textures are of high quality and consume a high amount of resources when using them. It is recommended to have at least 8GB VRAM for GPU rendering and 16GB RAM for CPU rendering.
Textures are not automatically loaded with materials.
This may be because the software is not able to interpret the relative path of the textures and it will be necessary to indicate the path manually. In the worst case, it may be necessary to load textures individually.
Do I have to pay taxes?
